Taking a Break From Work to Vote | Video

Alexander Gorney | 6/12/2012

Your boss might give you some time off during work today to go cast your votes. North Dakota law says employers are encouraged to establish a program to grant employees the time to vote during the work day.

"In North Dakota law there is a provision that encourages employers to allow their employees time off during the day to vote and its not mandatory or anything but its interesting that its been a state law for a long time," said North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger.

Check with your employer to see what their policy is regarding time off to vote.
