Garage Fire near Lincoln | Video

Alexander Gorney | 6/24/2012

Bismarck firefighters were called out to a garage fire south of Lincoln Sunday evening. The fire was reported around 6:00 at a home on 48th avenue southeast. Once firefighters arrived, they were able to contain the flames in the garage.

A 21-year-old woman lives inside the house with two children. The woman says she was cleaning at the time when she noticed the smoke and flames.

She and her family ran next door. They were not injured.

"We just heard a lot of popping noise,” said neighbor, Martin Baumann. “Neighbors came over pounding on the door so we ran out here. The neighbor’s garage is on fire, called 911 and got everybody in the yard where we got to be so they do whatever they do."

Owners of the property say they still have not been able to find one of their cats.

Firefighters say the fire did not spread to the house. They`re still not sure what caused the fire.
